Vijaya Chandramouleshwar (88), a writer and a resident of Gangothri Layout in city, passed away yesterday.

A spinster, she leaves behind a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at the foot of Chamundi Hill yesterday.

A Post-Graduate in English Literature, she has to her credit a novel titled ‘The New Horizon’ and a poetry collection titled ‘Drops from the Rainbow.’ Her Kannada novel ‘Beru Murida Mara’ had won Attimabbe Award, ‘Premagange’ had won Goruru Pratishtana Award and ‘Kunti Putra Karna’ & ‘Prithe Terada Putagalu’ have bagged Kannada Sahitya Parishat Endowment Awards. She has also won Hoysala Sangha & Savigannada Sangha Dasara Poets Award.
