Mysuru: Vishwamanava Day celebrations to be held at Kalamandira on Dec. 29 at 11.30 am should be held in a meaningful way, said Additional DC Dr. P. Shivaraju, here recently.
Presiding over the preliminary meeting with officials on preparations for Vishwamanava Day at the DC’s office in Siddarthanagar, Dr. Shivaraju said, the event was being held to celebrate the birth anniversary of Kuvempu and it was a matter of pride to be celebrating the person, who was one among the rarest of people to have born in Karnataka.
Instructing the officials to follow the prescribed protocol, the ADC asked the MCC officials to ensure cleanliness at the venue, arrange for drinking water and other facilities at the venue.
Speaking on the occasion, Kannada and Culture Asst. Director Dr. M.D. Sudarshan said that local teams would be invited to present a musical programme as part of the celebrations.
He also mentioned that the invitations would be printed as per the protocol and elected representatives will be invited as per the procedure.
