Vocal and Bharatanatyam recitals at Nadabrahma this weekend

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised a vocal and Bharatanatyam recitals  this weekend at its premises on JLB Road in city.

On July 29 (Saturday) at 6 pm, a vocal concert will be presented by Senior artiste Vidu. M.R. Sudha accompanied by Vidu.Adithi Krishnaprakash on violin, Vid. C. Cheluvaraju on mridanga and Vid. N. Gurumurthy on ghata.

M.R. Sudha comes from the well-known Music Family of Veena Vidwan M.J. Srinivasa Iyengar, being her uncle.  Daughter of M.J. Ramaswamy Iyengar, who himself is a knowledgeable and well-informed vocalist, Sudha is a Graduate and a graded vocalist of AIR.

Sudha was initiated into vocal music by her father under the guidance of MJS and had a broad based training from both her father and from MJS. Later on she was brought under the tutelage of well-known vocalist and eminent music teacher in Mysuru Prof. Gouri Kuppuswamy.

 On July 30 (Sunday) at 6 pm, as part of Smt. Kamalamma & A. Shankar Chetty Memorial Concert sponsored by A. Shankar Chetty & Sons, Mysuru, a grand Bharatanatyam will be presented Vidu. Deepti Radhakrishna from Bengaluru.

Deepti, a Science graduate and Master’s degree from Bhara-tidasan University, Tiruchirapally, also has a pre-Vidwat from Karnataka Board.

Deepti, daughter of Radha-krishna and Seethalakshmi, had been initiated into dancing at the age of 7 under the tutelage of Sheela Sridhar in Mysuru. After completing the basic training, she moved to Bengaluru in 2006 to receive advanced training and in- depth understanding in Abhinaya under Gurus B. Bhanumati and Sheela Chandrasekhar. Since then, she has been under their able guidance.

A regular performing member of “Bharathanjali” directed by Gurus B. Bhanumati and Sheela Chandrasekhar, she is married to Kartik Chandrasekar.
