Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised the following concerts for this weekend at its premises on JLB Road in city:

June 21 (6 pm): H. Raja Rao Memorial Concert sponsored by Friends and M.V. Lakshmamma and M.V. Venkatadasappa Memorial Concert sponsored by late M.V. Ramachandra Rao.

Vidu. Medha Manjunath will present a vocal concert accompanied by  Vid. Anirudh Bharadwaj on violin, Vid. A. Radhesh on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Kaushik on ghata.

June 22 (6 pm): T.V. Srinivasan Memorial Concert sponsored by Nagalakshmi and Nagarajan Srinivasan.

A grand creative and educative vocal concert will be presented by Dr. R.S. Nandakumar. Vidu. Prithvi Bhaskar on violin, Vid. G.S. Ramanujan on mridanga and Vid. R.P. Ravishankar on ghata will be the accompanists.

Profiles

Medha Manjunath is a full- time music professional with over 15 years of experience. She has trained in both vocal and violin under gurus Vidushi Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar, Vid. Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma, Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy and Vid. L. Subramaniam. She has a Master’s in Karnatak Music  from Jain University.

She has performed for Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Centenary celebrations in the presence of Pramoda Devi Wadiyar and Yaduveer Wadiyar of Mysore Royal Family.

She is also a recipient of CCRT Scholarship in the category of young artiste in different fields. She has secured first rank in both Pre-Vidwat and Post-Vidwat Exams in Mysuru.

Dr. R.S. Nandakumar is a renowned Karnaṭak Music performer, known for innovative concert formats. He composes for theatre, Bharatanatyam and documentaries, and has performed across India, Europe and the USA on major cultural platforms.

Dr. Nandakumar happens to be 4th generation singer in Saint Tyagaraja’s Shishya Parampara and has been revered as an unparalleled source of performance and knowledge.

A creative performer and critical researcher with decades of experience, Dr. Nandakumar from Mysuru is the Founder of Brahmavidya for Research in Musicology, Danceology and Indology.
