Well-maintained Gram Panchayat Roads

January 5, 2024

Sir,

A couple of days back I travelled through the interior parts of T. Narasipur and Nanjangud areas traversing mainly through agricultural fields on both sides of the road. I was really surprised to note the well-maintained condition of all these Gram Panchayat (GP) roads.

Though these places are sparsely populated and have least commercial activities, the GPs have  maintained  all these roads in a good motorable condition utilising available funds.

On the contrary, our Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is generating good revenue, but have failed to maintain the roads within their jurisdiction in a motorable condition. Many of the roads in the Extension areas are just not motorable and for years together these roads are not asphalted. MCC authorities concerned should wake up from their deep slumber and work together to make all the roads in and around  Mysuru motorable.
