Winners of MCICT Weight Lifting and Best Physique Championships

The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, had organised Mysuru City Inter-Collegiate Tournaments (MCICT) – Weight Lifting & Best Physique Championships 2021-22 at its Diamond Jubilee Indoor Sports Complex recently.

The Championships were inaugurated by B.D. Kantharaja, retd. Assistant Director, Department of Physical Education (DPE), University of Mysore (UoM). Dr. Rohini Nagapadma, Principal, NIE, Dr. K. Pushpalatha, Chairperson, NIE Sports Committee, H.C. Sudina, Regional Director, Physical Education, VTU, Anthony Moses, MCICT Convener and R. Kavya, Physical Education Director, NIE, were present. Dr. Sadashiva Bhat, retd. Principal, Somani First Grade College, distributed prizes.

NIE, Mysuru, emerged winners of Mysore City Inter Collegiate Weight Lifting Team Championship 2021-22 with 3 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 5 bronze medals (32 points), while JSS S&TU, Mysuru, emerged runners-up with 19 points. S. Dileep of PGSCE, Mysuru, with 3.065 points bagged ‘Best Weight Lifter’ title.

Team JSS S&TU, Mysuru, won MCICT Best Physique 2021-22 Team Championship with 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 2 bronze medals, while Vidyashrama College emerged Runner-Up with one gold medal and one silver medal. M.A. Mahamed Ibrahim (Mysuru Institute of Commerce & Arts College, Mysuru) won ‘Mr. MCICT 2021-22’ title.

Weight Lifting Championship

Up to 55 kgs Category: 1st prize – Afnaan Ali Khan (NIE, Mysuru) – lifted a total of 115 kgs; 2nd – S. Jeevan (SDC, Mysuru) – 107; 3rd – Shreyas Heranjal (NIE, Mysuru) – 87.

Up to 61 kgs: 1st – S. Dileep (PGSCE, Mysuru) – 183; 2nd – P. Pranav (VAFGC) – 137; 3rd – Sudarshan Kamat (NIE, Mysuru) – 135.

Up to 67 kgs: 1st – N. Manjunath (NIE, Mysuru) – 128; 2nd – C.V. Jeeven Gowda (VV FGC) – 120; 3rd – N. Nikhilesh (ATME, Mysuru) – 117.

Up to 73 kgs: 1st – T.S. Muthu Raju (NIE , Mysuru) – 149; 2nd – Alimeren Kichu (NIE, Mysuru) – 125; Y.P. Abhishek (PGSC, Mysuru) – 110.

Up to 81 kgs: 1st – M.V. Nagavardhan Vasist (SJCE, Mysuru) – 160; 2nd – Tushar (NIE, Mysuru) – 139; 3rd – Hriday U. Urs (NIE, Mysuru) – 122.

Up to 89 kgs: 1st – Karthik R. Jagati (SJCE, Mysuru) – 158; 2nd – L. Varshith (SDC, Mysuru) – 144; 3rd – R. Radesh (NIE, Mysuru) – 122.

Up to 96 kgs: 1st – B.G. Hruthik Kashyap (SJCE, Mysuru) – 142; C.V. Thimmaiah (NIE, Mysuru) – 142; 3rd – C. Sharath Patil (VVFGC, Mysuru) – 137.

Up to 102 kgs: 1st – P. Dayananda (PGSCE, Mysuru) – 178; 2nd – Arun Kumar (JSS S&TU, Mysuru) – 132; 3rd – M.N. Vaishak Shetty (Seshadripuram FGC, Mysuru) – 60.

Up to 109 kgs: 1st – Romario Richard Titus (Seshadripuram College, Mysuru) – 142; 2nd – K.S. Rajath Surya (NIE, Mysuru) – 132; 3rd – M.D. Mayur (JSS S&TU, Mysuru) – 113.

Above 109 kgs: 1st – Mohammed Saqlain (VAFGC, Mysuru) – 212; 2nd – Y. Sachith Gowda (VAFGC, Mysuru) – 195; 3rd – Panav Sharma (NIE, Mysuru) – 122.

Best Physique Championship

Up to 60 kgs: 1st – M. Subramani Raju (SJCE); 2nd – Jagadeesha (Vidyashram); 3rd – Vinay O. Bhat (VTUPG).

Up to 65 kgs: 1st – M.A. Mohammed Ibrahim (MIC); 2nd – R.S. Punith Ragavan (Amrita); 3rd – Nithin Shree Shastha (SJCE).

Up to 70 kgs: 1st – Akash (B. Somani); 2nd – K.S. Madhu (SJCE); 3rd – M. Santhosh (K. Puttaswamy FGC).

Up to 75 kgs: 1st – M. Praveen (Vidyashram); 2nd – Teki Kumar Raja (Amrita); 3rd – Tushar (NIE).

Up to 80 kgs: 1st – R. Jeevan (VVFGC); 2nd – A.S. Milan (SJCE); 3rd – M.V. Nagavardhan Vasist (VVFGC).

Up to 85 kgs: 1st – Karthik Jagati (SJCE); 2nd – Monu Kumar (SJCE); 3rd – R. Radesh (NIE).

Up to 90 kgs: 1st – Suhas Varma (SJCE).

Above 90 kgs: 1st – Arun Kumar (SJCE); 2nd – A.P. Hruthik Kashyap (SJCE).
