Mysuru: Zilla Panchayat, AYUSH Department and Department of Psychology of Maharani’s Arts College had organised a workshop on ‘Problems of adolescents and solutions’ at the college premises here recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Psychology Professor Somanna opined that adolescent period between childhood and adulthood is very crucial. He contended that problems during that stage could be solved but can be avoided also.
He said that adolescents easily get distracted which should be avoided. He further said that the Autonomic Nervous System in the brain regulates the bodily functions and balances emotional behaviour. He added that the final behaviour is under the control of the person.
Another Psychology Professor of the College M.S. Manonmani advised adolescents to share their problems with their friends. She opined that meditation and yoga helps to maintain good health of body and mind.
Taluk Panchayat President Kalamma Kemparamaiah inaugurated the programme. District AYUSH Officer Dr. B.S. Seethalakshmi, Department Officer Dr. Ashwini, Journalism Professor S.G. Raghavendra and others were present.
