Mysuru: Former Professor of Psychology, NIMHANS, Bengaluru, Dr. G.G. Prabhu said that conducting of workshops on traumatic brain injury is very important due to the increasing number of road traffic accidents.
He was speaking after inaugurating a workshop on Cognitive Training in Traumatic Brain Injury, at JSS Medical College and Hospital, here recently.
Dr. Prabhu traced the history,
development and current status of Neuro Psychological Assessment Techniques and highlighted the existing models in India (NIMHANS, AIIMS and Gujarat Model).
He emphasised the need for updating the knowledge in the fast changing world, as this is upcoming super speciality area. He pointed out the need to conduct such programmes to sensitise even the senior professionals in the field.
JSS Medical College Principal Dr. H. Basavana Gowdappa presided, HoD of Clinical Psychology Dr. Basavarajappa, welcomed. Dr. M.D. Ravi, Dr. B. Manjunatha, Dr. G.V. Manjunath, Dr. Rajesh Raman and E.V. Johny were present.
