Mysore/Mysuru: During the literature festival, nomadic artists stepped forward to reveal their challenging circumstances.
The programme ‘60 minutes with anonymous nomadic artistes’ featured Mysuru Akashvani Assistant Director Abdul Rashid as the panellist. These artists not only showcased their art but also highlighted the difficulties they faced.
Narasimha and Rani from the Dombara community reminisced about their childhood days when they used to display their art on the streets. Mallaiah, Puttaiah, and their troupe captivated the audience with their songs.
Violin exponent Syed Moula played popular tunes like ‘Raghupati Raghava Rajaram’ and ‘Bombe Heluthaithe,’ earning enthusiastic applause from the gathering.
Abdul Rashid emphasised that these artists are not anonymous wanderers but rather our own ‘Gandharvas,’ adding to their pride.
