Students pay tributes to Indian Army, condemn atrocities against women

Mysuru: The second day of Yuva Sambhrama witnessed students from various colleges across the State present some of the best folk programmes including the Mallakhamba from the team of Kamadolli Gram Panchayat in Dharwad which captivated the audience at the Open Air Theatre in Manasagangothri here last evening.

Students of Sri Shivayogi Swamy Composite PU College, Gandhinagar, Mysuru; Gnanodaya Institute of Nursing, T. Narasipur; Bharathi PU College, Kirugavalu, Mandya; Government First Grade College, Bettadapura; Government First Grade College, Bidadi; Samarthanam Special School for Children with Intellectual Disabilities, Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, Mysuru and Vidyavardhaka ITI  presented various programmes projecting the rich culture and heritage of Kannada language.

Later, students of Kodlipet First Grade College, Kodagu, enthralled the audience with various forms of folk dances while students of JSS PU College, Devalapura, presented the dance dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Spreading the essence of Vande Mataram and students of Nisarga PU College, Chamarajanagar, presented a dance programme showcasing different cultures followed in the country. Sri Adichunchanagiri Independent PU College, H.D. Kote, presented a programme condemning the atrocities against women.

Meanwhile, the students Government PU College, Padavalahippe, Holenarasipur, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagamangala and Sri Rajeshwari Vidyalaya, Mahadeva Betta, Madikeri, presented programmes paying tributes to the Indian Army.

The audience at the Open Air Theatre enjoyed the programme presented by students despite drizzles. They were seen dancing along with the friends and family members to the music being played at the venue.

The authorities also distributed honorarium in cheques, along with certificates and mementoes, to colleges that performed during the Yuva Sambhrama yesterday.
