Rare bird found dead at Kukkarahalli

A rare bird, Oriental Darter, which is classified as ‘nearly threatened species’ by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN 3.1), was found mysteriously hanging and dead at Kukkarahalli Lake this morning. This picture was sent by Star of Mysore reader S. Shylajesha, who is a birder and a regular visitor to the Lake.
