Mysore/Mysuru: University of Mysore Alumni Association (UMAA) is organising its 3rd Global Alumni Meet at Rani Bahadur Auditorium, Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences, Hunsur Road, Mysuru on Dec.12 at 10.30 am. 

Former Vice-Chancellor of Kashmir, Pondicherry and Chennai’s  B.S.A. Universities, Prof. J.A.K. Tareen, will be the chief guest. Former Vice-Chancellor of University of Mysore and KSOU Prof. K.S. Rangappa will be the guest of honour. University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar will preside while Registrar Prof. R. Shivappa will be the Special Invitee. President of UMAA Dr. Vasanth Kumar Thimakapura and Distinguished Alumni Awards Committee Chairman and Vice-President, UMAA, N. Niranjan Nikam will be present.

As part of the Meet, Distinguished Alumni Awards will be conferred on eight achievers from different fields and they are: Prof. C.P. Krishnakumar (Literature); Air Marshal K. Ramasundara (Engineering); Dr. T.M. Manjunath (Agriculture); Dr. B. Ramana Rao (Medicine); Prof. M. K. Surappa (Science); Dr. Pushpa Kuttanna (Sports);  Shivamurthy Keelara (NRI-Social Service) and Dr. M. University of Mysore Alumni Association was re-launched on Sept. 22, 2015, during the Centenary Celebrations of the University, as it was strongly felt that with the University, having a rich legacy of more than hundred years, must have an association so that all the alumni who have graduated can connect with the past and present.

The first Global Alumni Meet was held on Feb. 6, 2016 and the Second Meet was held on Aug. 24, 2019.
