Monitor lizard rescued at Panchakarma Hospital

September 4, 2019

Mysuru, Sept.4 (KS)- A monitor lizard, which had strayed into the Panchakarma H-Tech Hospital on KRS Road at Brindavan Layout, has been rescued yesterday morning.

The monitor lizard, called as ‘Uda’ in Kannada, was found in the general ward of the hospital, when a hospital staff was cleaning the ward.

The staff and the patients panicked on seeing the monitor lizard and the staff immediately brought it to the notice of the hospital authorities, who immediately informed snake rescuer Surya Keerti, who arrived and rescued the three ft-long reptile and released it in Chamundi Hill.

With forest land being encroached and due to rapid urbanisation, wild animals including reptiles, are straying into urban areas in search of food and water, which has become common now.
