Mysuru: Lokayukta Police investigating the allotment of 14 sites to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife B.M. Parvathi, yesterday conducted a lengthy interrogation of J. Devaraju, the fourth accused in the case.
Devaraju is the original owner of the 3.16-acre land in Kesare under Survey Number 464 which he had sold to B.M. Mallikarjunaswamy, Siddaramaiah’s brother-in-law. Mallikarjunaswamy later gifted the land to his sister Parvathi. In exchange for this land, Parvathi got 14 sites in Vijayanagar.
While Siddaramaiah is Accused 1 in the case, Parvathi is Accused 2 and Mallikarjunaswamy is Accused 3.
Devaraju arrived at the Lokayukta Office on Dewan’s Road at 10.30 am, where he was questioned until 4.45 pm.
This marked the second round of questioning for Devaraju, who had previously been interrogated by the Lokayukta officials.
During the six-hour session, investigators gathered detailed information about the sale of 3.16 acres of land in Kesare Survey No. 464 to Mallikarjunaswamy.
After the interrogation, Devaraju told reporters that he had been questioned about the land sale and had provided all the required information, supported by documentary evidence.
However, he declined to comment on the ‘fraud’ case filed against him by his brother Mailaraiah’s daughter, Jamuna, in the Court, subtly suggesting that they were the ones responsible for the fraudulent activity. Devaraju, accompanied by one more person, left the Lokayukta Office premises in an autorickshaw.
