Mysore All India Radio Phone-In programme from tomorrow

Mysuru: In an effort to improve pass percentage of SSLC students of Mysuru district in the next academic year, officials in the Department of Public Instruction have prepared several comprehensive action plans in this regard.

In the year 2018-19, Mysuru district had dropped to 17th place in the district-wise pass percentage ranking. The administration is making all efforts to reach top-10 position in the academic year 2019-20 and has designed a comprehensive 20-point programme including a number of initiatives such as ‘All India Radio Phone-In.’ Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) has instructed the school teachers to make necessary preparations for the same.

Starting from Dec. 17 to Feb. 1, All India Radio Mysore is telecasting an ‘Exam Preparation Programme’ every week on Tuesdays from 11 am to 12 pm in which two teachers will be conducting a Phone-In programme and will be discussing one academic subject every week. Any SSLC student from the district can participate in the direct question-answer session and clear their doubts. Students can directly call and get answers for any exam related queries such as how to prepare for tough subjects, exam preparation and new syllabus.

On Dec. 17, Zilla Panchayat CEO K. Jyothi, DDPI Dr. Panduranga, Education Dept. Officer Rajashekhar, DIET Principal K. Mahadevappa and Reader of Shikshaka Shikshana Mahavidyalaya Manjula will be conducting a Phone-In programme.

Teachers will be conducting Phone-In programme about first language Kannada on Dec. 24, second language English on Dec. 31, Hindi on January 7, 2020, Maths on Jan. 14, Science on Jan. 21 and Social Studies on Jan. 28.

On Feb. 4, psychologists will be giving guidance and advice to students and answering their queries. All students and teachers have already been instructed by the administration to prepare for this Phone-In programme. For details, call 0821-2515089 / 2512582.
