He scalped 43 wickets for Nagaland in Ranji Trophy Plate Division 2024-25
Mysore/Mysuru: City’s Jagadeesha Suchith was honoured with Madhavrao Scindia Award by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for scalping highest wickets in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season during the Naman Awards held at New Delhi recently.
Suchith, representing Nagaland in Ranji Trophy Plate Division, scalped a total of 43 wickets in just six matches making him the highest wicket taker of season and was also adjudged the Player of the Match twice. In the 2025-26 season, he shifted to Uttarakhand during which he scored 454 runs with four 50s and took 26 wickets with two five-wicket hauls.
In the Vijay Hazare Tournament, Suchith scalped 11 wickets and scored 193 runs. Meanwhile, he also took 7 wickets in Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy in the last season with one Player of the Match award.
Suchith, a left-arm spinner, made his first class debut for Karnataka against Bangladesh ‘A’ during 2014-15 season during which he not only scored 41 crucial runs in first innings but also picked up 6 for 60 helping hosts emerge victorious against the visitors.
He was also the first cricketer from KSCA Mysuru Zone to be selected for Indian Premier League (IPL). Suchith was picked up by Mumbai Indians during 2015 season during which he picked up 10 wickets from 13 matches.
Suchith has also represented other franchises including Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) and Sunrisers Hyderbad. He also played for Bengaluru Blasters and Mysore Warriors in the Karnataka Premier League (KPL), now KSCA Maharaja Trophy.
Suchith is the son of T.R. Jagadeesha and K.V. Sharath, residents of Bogadi in Mysuru.
