Second seeded Anirban Roy Choudhary (Central Excise), playing a attacking game on both the flanks, scored a well-earned win over fourth seeded Shreyal Telang (BNM) 9-11, 11-7, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8, 13-11 and clinched the coveted Men’s Singles title on the concluding day of the Canara Bank Cup – Karnataka State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament conducted by the MDTTA at the University Gymnasium Hall here yesterday.
Sumit Mishra (BNM) beat Varun Ranganath (GMTTA) 5-11, 11-9, 13-11,11-5 and won the Non-Medalist Singles title.
The prizes to the winners were given away by Muralidhar, General Manager, Canara Bank, Mysuru. S. Nagendra, Director, Mysore Chess Centre and Sunil L. Baliga, President, MDTTA, were the other guests present on the occasion.
