Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep called upon students to make their own career choices without being influenced by their friends and family and to make a career choice after understanding various aspects of the field and pursue their chosen career with interest.

He was speaking at the career guidance and scholarship awareness programme, organised by CIGMA India in association with Central Muslim Welfare Council (CMWC) at Town Hall here recently.

Earlier, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner G. Jagadeesha, who inaugurated the event, addressed the gathering, comprising more than 500 students and parents.

Head of CIGMA India, Ameen-e-Mudassar, gave a detailed presentation on various streams of study for students, who had passed their Class 10 and 2nd PUC examination.

The gathering was also introduced to various scholarships available to students by the Union and State Governments.

The participants were given a free handbook on courses and careers after Class 10 and 12 and were also informed about a free mobile app called ‘After 10th, What next?’.

Prof. Shabir Mustafa, Dr. Mohammed Salahuddin, Noorulla Shariff, Syed Zaheer Ahmed, General Secretary of CMWC and others were present.
