Mysore/Mysuru: The Aashaada Anka of Champaka Rashtreeya Kalaa Utsava was held recently at Champaka Sabhangana by Champaka Academy.
On the occasion, Bharatanatyam performances were organised by Champaka Educati-onal and Cultural Trust, Mysuru.
Disciples of Vidushi Nagalakshmi Nagarajan, Founder of the Trust, gave a scintillating performance.
Senior artiste, Karnataka Kalashree Dr. K. Kumar of Kumar Performing Arts Centre and his disciples performed Pushpanjali and other repertoire.
Disciples of Karnataka Kalashree Vidya Ravishankar performed the Mysore Parampara repertoire in Bharatanatyam.
Music critic Dr. Rama V. Bennur, who was the chief guest lauded the initiative of Champaka Academy and said that such opportunities of new stages provided to artistes was much needed in the field of dance.
Dr. Kumar also spoke about the need for platforms for the budding artistes. Nagarajan Srinivasan, Trustee of Champaka Educational and Cultural Trust, was also present.
