Mysore/Mysuru: Columbia Asia Hospitals, Mysuru (A Unit of Manipal Hospitals), in association with Tibetan Heart Foundation, had organised a three-day Community Multi-Speciality Mega Camp from Oct. 20 to 22 at Bylakuppe.
Tenzin Choney, Director of Tibetan Heart Foundation, an NGO, said it was for the first time that the Foundation was conducting a free camp at Bylakuppe and had partnered with Columbia Asia Hospital and senior doctors including Cardiologist Dr. C.B. Keshavamurthy, ENT Specialist Dr. H.A. Dathathri, Urologist Dr. Dinesh, Orthopaedician Dr. Ravikiran, Gastroenterologist Dr. Anoop Alva and others.
Tenzin said that the camp proved very beneficial as many cases were detected which could be cured by the timely intervention of experts.
Chairman of Sera Mey Monastery Lobsang Tashi said, “We appreciate the effort taken by Columbia Asia Hospital, Mysuru, for organising this free medical camp for us and we are very content by the diligence of the doctors and the team. They followed our guidelines and examined the people of the community. We believe timely expert medical intervention is essential to avoid adverse health conditions and this camp has served that exact purpose.”
General Manager of Columbia Asia Hospitals, Mysuru, Dr. Gautam Das said, “This multi-speciality mega camp was an excellent opportunity to serve the Tibetan community. We aim to provide high-quality services of our highly trained and experienced doctors to such communities and make sure that they receive timely treatment before their health problems worsen. We believe that it is our moral responsibility to provide high-quality health care to people with little or no access to basic health care services. This camp was important for us to provide preventive healthcare that lacked due to several lockdowns in the last two years of Covid-19 pandemic.”
More than 500 people including monks benefited from the camp.
