‘Dasara Rangotsava’ from Sept. 25

Mysore/Myusuru: With a grand Dasara celebration this year after a break of two years due to COVID- 19, Rangayana Mysuru has organised a 10-day Dasara Rangotsava-2022 in association with the District Administration at Bhoomigeeta auditorium in Rangayana premises from Sept. 25 to Oct. 4 at 6.30 pm.

“There will be no formal inauguration of the programme as the main Dasara will be inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu on Sept. 26. We have sought a grant of Rs. 15 lakh from the District Administration this year and waiting for its release. There will be free entry for all. ‘Dasara Ranga Gourava Puraskar’ will be conferred on veteran Theatre Artiste Dr. Na. Ratna at the valedictory to be held on Oct. 4,” said Addanda C. Cariappa.

Sept. 26: ‘Samarakatha’ (Written and Directed by G.K. Nandakumar) by Bharatiya Rangavidyalaya, Rangayana, Mysuru.

Sept. 27: P. Lankesh’s play ‘Policesariddare Yecharike’ (Directed by Nagarjuna Aradhya) by Ayama Rangatanda, Mysuru.

Sept. 28: Sudha Adukala’s play ‘Madhavi’ (Directed by Sripada Bhat) by Kaivalya Kalakendra, Bengaluru.

Sept. 29: ‘That’s all, your honour’ (Directed by Shashiraj Kavur) by Rangasangati Samskrutika Pratishtana, Mangaluru.

Sept. 30: Maxim Gorky’s play ‘E Kelaginavaru’ (Translated to Kannada by B.T. Desai and Directed by Veena Sharma Bhusanurmath) by National School of Drama (NSD), Bengaluru.

Oct. 1: ‘Marichana Bandugalu’ (Based on Arun Mukhopadhyay’s Bengali play; Translated to Kannada by Bindigana Navile Narayanaswamy; Directed by Walter D’Souza) by Sneharanga, Bengaluru.

Oct. 2: ‘Halagali Samara’ (Directed by Addanda C. Cariappa) by Rangayana Repertory, Mysuru.

Oct. 3: Mounesh Badigera’s play ‘Vishanke’ (Directed by Manjunath L. Badigera) by Rangabhoomi, Udupi.

Oct. 4: ‘Mamatheya Suli’ (selected part from Kuvempu’s Sriramayana Darshanam; Directed by Ganesh Mandarti) by Kalabhi Theatre, Mangaluru.
