Fire Officer suffers heart attack, dies while on duty

Mysore/Mysuru: M. Shivaswamy (57), a Fire Officer, serving at Bannimantap Fire Station, suffered a massive heart attack and passed away yesterday. He was a resident of Srirampura in city.

Shivaswamy, while on duty at Fire Station, complained of severe chest pain at about 12 noon and collapsed. Though he was rushed to a private hospital immediately, he breathed his last at about 4.15 pm, family sources said.

He leaves behind his wife M. Nagarathna, daughter Harshitha, son-in-law Prasanna, grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill today, according to family sources.
