Don Bosco Makkalalaya, a NGO  in N.R. Mohalla, has organised a Foster Care training programme on May 26 from 10 am to 1 pm. Don Bosco Makkalalaya Director has stated in a press release that Foster Care programme is being held since July 1, 2020 in Mysuru district under Juvenile Justice Act 2015, Juvenile Justice Model Rules or Model Guidelines for Foster Care 2016 of the Central Government. The institute has been involved in creating awareness on child rights and Foster Care programme.

District Level Child Protection Unit and Don Bosco Makkalalaya have been conducting training and awareness programme for all district and taluk-level Government Officers and staff, elected representatives of Gram Panchayats, school teachers, members of women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs), community leaders, Anganwadi teachers, mothers, Anganwadi assistants and ASHA workers.
