More affordable options for Yuva Dasara with tickets priced at Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 1,500

Mysuru: Mysuru Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy has confirmed that over 1,000 Dasara Gold Cards, each priced at Rs. 6,500, are still available for purchase at www.mysoredasara.gov.in. He added that the District Administration is prepared to print more cards if necessary.

Addressing a press conference this morning at the new DC office, alongside District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa and ZP CEO K.M. Gayathri, the DC dismissed rumours that the Gold Cards had sold out, ensuring that the general public still has access to them.

“We initiated the sale of Gold Cards as well as other event tickets — Jumbo Savari ticket at the Palace for Rs. 3,500 and the Torchlight Parade ticket for Rs. 1,000 — and over 1,000 Gold Cards remain available. We will print additional cards if there is genuine demand,” the DC stated. However, he declined to disclose how many Gold Cards were printed initially.

“Previously, Gold Cards were purchased in bulk, with individuals buying 200 to 300 cards at a time. However, due to the OTP system, each person can now buy only four Gold Cards,” the Deputy Commissioner stated.

Addressing concerns regarding the pricing of Yuva Dasara tickets, which have been criticised as exorbitant at Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 6,000 per person per day, the DC clarified that more affordable options priced at Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 1,500 are also available.

“Those who purchase the Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 6,000 tickets will have front-row seating at the concerts, while those with Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 1,500 tickets will be seated behind them,” he explained.

Highlighting the scale of Yuva Dasara, the DC noted that international-level artistes will be performing, and spectator galleries have been constructed to accommodate over 90,000 attendees.

“This is why we relocated the Yuva Dasara venue from the usual Maharaja’s College Grounds, which can hold only 25,000 to 30,000 people, to an 80-acre site on the outskirts of the city near Uttanahalli, allowing us to accommodate up to one lakh people,” he added.

He emphasised that comprehensive security measures, including CCTV cameras, street lighting, and night bus services, have been put in place to ensure the safety and convenience of the crowd during Yuva Dasara.

On the proposal to make illuminated streets in the Central Business District traffic-free during Dasara, the DC announced that three days from October 3 will be designated for traffic-free access on D. Devaraj Urs Road and 50 percent of the areas surrounding the Mysore Palace. Depending on the success of these three days, additional traffic-free days may be implemented.
