HDK, wife visit Chamundi Hill and Nanjangud Temple

Mysore/Mysuru: Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy (HDK) visited Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill in city and the famed Srikanteshwara Temple at Nanjangud this morning.

Kumaraswamy, accompanied by his wife Anitha Kumaraswamy, first visited Chamundeshwari Temple and later Srikanteshwara Temple, where they sought the blessings of the presiding deities. Kumaraswamy had arrived in city last evening after carrying out an inspection (window trailing) of Railway facilities and works on Bengaluru-Mysuru section, along with Union Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna.

After visiting Nanjangud Srikanteshwara Temple, Kumaraswamy, who is the State JD(S) President and former Chief Minister, visited the residence of bedridden Pooja at Hullahalli village in Nanjangud taluk and solaced the family members.

Kumaraswamy had a brief talk with Pooja, 24 years, who has been severely ailing for some time, her husband Ravi, father Kumar, mother Sheela and other family members and spent about 45 minutes conversing with the family.

Later, he extended financial support for her treatment and also assured of leasing out a house for bedridden Pooja’s family. He also promised to talk to Mysuru DC and ZP CEO on extending further help to her family.

Hunsur MLA G.D. Harish Gowda, MLC C.N. Manjegowda, former MLA K. Mahadev, District JD(S) President M. Ashwin Kumar and other party leaders were present.
