Union HRD Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to inaugurate

Mysore/Mysuru: A two-day birth centenary celebration of Panditaratnam K.S. Varadacharya, a multi-lingual scholar, will be held at Sarada Vilas College Centenary Hall in the city on Oct. 22 and 23.

Addressing a press meet here on Monday, Sanskrit Scholar Dr. H.V. Nagaraja Rao said that Union HRD Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate the programme at 10 am on Oct.22 in the presence of Sirsi Sonda Mutt Seer Sri Gangadharendra Saraswathi Swamiji, Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji, Parakala Mutt Seer Srimadabhinava Vageesha Bramhatantra Parakala Swamiji and a host of other Seers.

Continuing, he said that Assembly Speaker Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri will release the commemorative volume titled ‘Samanvaya Varada.’

Karnataka Sanskrit University Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.E. Devanathan will preside. District Minister S.T. Somashekar, MP Pratap Simha, MLA S.A. Ramdas and  Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board Chairman H.S. Sachidanandamurthy will be the chief guests.

On Oct. 22, a seminar on ‘Varadacharyara Drushtiyalli Matatraya Samanvaya’ will take place at 3 pm.

On Oct. 23, a seminar on ‘Varadacharyara Drushtiyalli Jeevana Samanvaya’ will be held at 9 am, followed by a seminar on ‘Varadacharyara Drushtiyalli Darshana Samanvaya’ at 10.30 am.

The valedictory of the two-day event will take place at 3.30 pm, which will be attended by Ministers Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan and B.C. Nagesh, Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha President Ashok Harnahalli and other personalities, Dr. Nagaraja Rao said.

He further said that Veda and Divya Prabandha Parayana will take place from Oct.19 to 23 at Sri Sitaraghava Prarthana Mandira in Krishnamurthypuram.
