‘KalaBhoomi Foundation’ inaugurated

Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) President B.M. Harish inaugurated ‘KalaBhoomi Foundation,’ a School of Cinema, Drama and Fine Arts at a function jointly organised by the KFCC, Lions Club of Mysore  Bhandavya and District Kannada Sahitya Parishat at the Sahitya Bhavana in Vijayanagar.

Senior actor Shankar Ashwath, SP of Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE), Mysuru, Dr. B.T. Kavitha, Social Worker Premabhodi, Theatre actor Manjuswamy and Theatre person Girish Machalli were felicitated on the occasion.

KFCC Vice-President and veteran actor Jai Jagadish, who spoke on the occasion, said that it is a challenge now-a-days to start a school like this.

“Apart from good public contact, one need to have adequate financial resources to run an Art School. That’s why we have not thought about it. But, it is commendable that actor and director Oscar Krishna and friends have started an Art School,” added Jai Jagadish and assured all co-operation for the School from KFCC.

Deputy Director of Rangayana Nirmala Mathapati, who also spoke on the occasion, said: “All art organisations project our culture and we generally see an organisation is limited to a particular art form. But, KalaBhoomi Foundation is catering to the needs of films, theatre and fine arts enthusiasts, which is special.” She wished the School to grow as a  Learning Centre.

District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal, KFCC Hon. Secretaries M.N. Kumar and Kushalgowda, KFCC Vice-President Shilpa Srinivas, KFCC Treasurer T.P. Siddaraju, KalaBhoomi Foundation President Oscar Krishna, Rangayana artiste Geetha Montadka, Film Directors Dr. Krishnamurthy Chamaram and S.M. Patil and others were present.
