Mysuru: Jumboo Savari is not only about caparisoned elephants taking part in the procession but it is also an opportunity for the State Government to highlight vibrant Karnataka which is blend of different ethnicities and culture.
Folk artistes from various parts of the State, who had descended in Mysuru, gave a glimpse of various folk forms existing in the State during the procession. While, the artistes danced to their own music, the audience present throughout the procession route also tried to emulate them in their own way.
Apart from the regular Dollu Kunita, Veeraghase, Keelu Kudure, Suggi Kunitha, this year, the Dasara Procession Sub-Committee had invited artistes from Maharastra who performed Dhangari Gaja dance, Ghoomar Dance (Haryana), Chhau Dance (Haryana), Singari Melam (Kerala), Tappeta Gullu (Andhra Pradesh) to perform during the Dasara procession.
