Bengaluru: Even as the government doctors at the State capital Bengaluru continued their strike for the fourth day yesterday in protest against the alleged assault on doctors at State-run Minto Eye Hospital by Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists on Rajyotsava Day, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, who is also the Medical Education Minister on Tuesday said that personnel of KSISF (Karnataka State Industrial Security Force) will be deployed at big government hospitals and medical colleges in the State.
Speaking to press persons, Dr. Ashwathnarayan said that KSISF personnel will be deployed at 19 hospitals attached to Government medical colleges in the State, to ensure the safety of doctors and staff working there. Maintaining that this measure will largely help in preventing assault on doctors and staff by the kith and kin of patients and other miscreants, he appealed the striking doctors at Minto Hospital to call off their strike in the better interests of patients.
He further said the government has held talks with the striking doctors and the government will take action against those found guilty of assaulting the doctors.
