Mysuru: R.K. Parthasarathy, Joint Director, Department of Factories and Boilers, Industrial Safety and Health, Mysuru, said that it is important for Factories and Industries to ensure labour safety.

He was speaking after inaugurating a one-day awareness programme on ‘Labour Safety’ organised jointly by Nanjangud Industries Association (NIA) and Department of Industrial Safety and Health at Hotel Guru Residency in city recently.

Stressing on the need for Industries to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the Department for ensuring labour safety and health at work places, Parthasarathy observed that  adhering to norms will help a lot in preventing any possible industrial accidents or mishaps.

TVS Factory Safety Officer B.S. Prakash delivered a talk on Materials Management while Jubilant Generics Company Safety Officer spoke on Power Management, AT&S Company Safety Officer on Fire and Physical Safety and Automotive Axles Safety Officer Devanand on General Safety.

M.S. Mahadevu, Deputy Director of Factories, Industrial Safety and Health, Mysuru, presided.

NIA President M.S. Ramprasad, Secretary B.S. Chandrashekhar and others were present.
