Miscreants threaten garments trader, decamp with gold ornaments and cash

Mysuru: Alleging that miscreants threatened him and decamped with his gold ornaments and cash, a garments trader has lodged a complaint at Lashkar Police Station in this regard.

The complainant is Sohanlal, a garments trader on K.T. Street-K.R. Hospital Road in city.

In his complaint, Sohanlal has stated that on May 31 morning, when he was walking on K.R. Hospital Road, two unidentified persons approached him asking the address of a Pandit and after he (Sohanlal) showed them the address, the unidentified persons asked Sohanlal to show them a shop as they wanted to buy incense sticks. Sohanlal took them to a shop and while returning, one of the two unidentified persons placed his hand on Sohanlal’s head and while blessing gave him a bag and told him (Sohanlal) to put the gold ornaments and cash he was having in the bag after threatening him.

Out of fear, Sohanlal removed the gold ornaments he was wearing and placed it in the bag and also the cash. The miscreants then threatened Sohanlal of murdering him if he disclosed the matter to anyone and fled from the spot.

Sohanlal has stated that the miscreants made away with 25 grams gold chain, 23 grams bracelet, 20 grams finger ring and Rs.1,500 cash.

He has also stated in the complaint that as he was threatened with his life he had lodged the complaint late.

Lashkar Police, who inspected the footages of CCTV cameras installed near the spot of the crime, found Sohanlal speaking to strangers for more than 30 minutes and removing his gold ornaments and handing them over to the strangers.

Lashkar Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
