Bengaluru: The Congress has picked senior party leaders M.C. Venugopal and Nazir Ahmed as its candidates for the by-polls to Legislative Council seats.

The by-polls for three MLC vacant seats will be held on Oct.4.

The Congress will contest two seats it has left the other seat to its coalition partner in the State Government — JD(S).

The Opposition BJP, the single largest party in the State Assembly, is planning to contest all the three seats.
