More Army jobs in coming years

Mysore/Mysuru: Asserting that there will be more jobs in the Defence Forces in the coming years, Mysuru NCC Group Commander R.R. Menon said that skilled youths should utilise the opportunity and get the jobs through skills.

He was speaking at the valedictory of the month-long Physical Fitness Camp organised by Mysuru NCC in association with Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES), NCC Students Alumni Association and University of Mysore here recently. Pointing out that there will be ample opportunities in the Navy and Army in future days, he called upon the youths to mentally and physically get prepared for these jobs by undergoing skill training and other such exercises.

Zilla Panchayat (ZP) Deputy Secretary (Administration) Dr. Premkumar said, youths aged between 15 and 25 years are more interested in sports, academic, cultural and other such activities. Observing that the body sees many changes in this age group, he called upon the youths to make appropriate decisions at the right time, without wasting time, money and energy.

Calling upon the youths to understand what is right and what is wrong, he advised them to acquire knowledge about the current state of affairs and political and cultural scenario of the country through extensive reading.

Stressing on the need to learn about our Constitutional rights and duties, Dr. Premkumar said that youths must tread the right path so that they can alert the society whenever it goes in the wrong direction. He also stressed that good citizens must not keep quiet about happenings around them as bad things will thrive, causing harm to society.

DYES Assistant Director Dr. K. Suresh, NCC Mysuru Group Administrative Officer V. Srinivas, Commanding Officer Col. Parag, Manjunath of NCC, Dr. Chandrashekar of Aditya Hospital and others were present. More than 70 Cadets took part in this month-long camp, which was held from May 4 to June 4.
