Sir,
Apropos KBG’s Abracadabra titled “Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mysuru Kendra: Remembering Dr. Mathoor Krishnamurthy” in SOM dated Oct. 4, just remembered Dr. Krishnamurthy, who had accompanied Dr. Mathoorji, Uthappa family, Sumana and many others by train to Prayagraj (then Allahabad) where Badimaa had her 45-acre guest house-cum-garden on the banks of Sangam (Ganga-Jamuna-Guptagami and Saraswathi).
I also visited along with Sudha Murty. They had arranged a homa by Dr. Mathoorji. Dr. Krishnamurthy was sitting by my side in a chair and I was watching the homa kunda, suddenly Sudha Murty came to me and said: “We are not getting sleep even during night times, see how he is sleeping. Please wake him up.”
I looked at Dr. Krishnamurthy to wake him up. Alas, he was dead watching homa kunda!
Of course, Badimaa made all arrangements to send his body to Mysuru!
The doctor was a very nice person and a great admirer of Mathoorji and would address Mathoorji as ‘Swamiji.’ A medical doctor by profession, Dr. Krishnamurthy of Nanjumalige in Mysuru and his wife would attend Mathoorji’s discourse at Jaganmohan Palace regularly.
