To provide more if lockdown is extended
Mysore/Mysuru: Extending a helping hand at the time of distress, Mysore Citizens Forum (MCF), which had provided relief materials at the time of natural disaster earlier, will be distributing 3,000 grocery boxes worth Rs. 12.5 lakh to poor families in city.
To prevent people from crowding any particular place of distribution, MCC will be distributing the grocery boxes to the doorstep of poor families identified by it.
The distribution process was launched symbolically at JSS School in Raghavendranagar here this morning.
On the occasion, Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, who is the President of the Forum, distributed the grocery boxes to more than 20 families in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar, Mayor Tasneem, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde, Deputy Mayor C. Sridhar, MCF Secretary R. Vasudeva Bhat, Members P.V. Giri, Jagadish, Dr. R. Balasubramanyam, JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath and others.
Each grocery box contains 5kg rice, 1kg dal, 1kg sugar, 1kg salt, 250 gram tea powder and 500ml cooking oil.
Speaking on the occasion, Suttur Seer said that the whole country is under lockdown to prevent the spread of Coronavirus and added that the lockdown has given positive results.
The Seer further said that the first positive case person is on the verge of recovering which is a good news.
Continuing, Suttur Seer said that the lockdown has rendered several daily wagers and labourers without jobs who are now struggling for food and hence, the MCF has come forward to provide 3,000 grocery boxes to those families identified by the MCC.
Cops remind people on social distancing: As a large crowd gathered at the School to collect grocery boxes, the Police had to remind the people about maintaining social distancing following which it was followed.
Are those holding grocery box are from poor family ?
Are we to believe that the Mayor and Suttur Seer, the two most influential people without a mask, are immune to COVID-19 virus? Deputy commissioner, standing behind, should have instructed them.
The important aspect of a lockdown is prevention congregation of more than 2, and a group even if wearing masks are not allowed. That is the standard protocol as practiced in civilised countries around the world. The Suttur Seer is so powerful, arguably more powerful than the CM that no DC will dare to adivise him. If a DC did, he would be transferred immediately to count and oversee fisheries export items in Mangalore harbour, working in a very smelly environment!! Look at the stance of this DC, a very respectful , which shows who has the clout, not him!!
Remember, the Suttur Seer has the ears of your PM Modi and your president Kovind . This is India!!

Perhaps ypudid not realise , by posting the above, you put yourself in a dangerous situation. For his hundreds of thousands of followers, this saffron-clad religious leader is an incarnation of Lord basaweshwara Himself, which means mask is not for him but for other lessor sinned mortals! Hope, you have a place to hide or you are thousands of miles away ffrom Mysuru.
Un recent years, every CM, before taking the oath for office, comes to visit this Seer to get his blessings. Your current CM, Yedi the Cheddi, a veerashiva, is an ardent disciple of this Seer.
That may , even in masks is against the protocolof lockdown. The DC is aware of it, and is aware , how powerful this Seer is. The DC wants promotion and a job in a civilised place, and hence will not give advice.
Sorry for the typos
@Shankar
During 1960s, Master Hiranniah, the actor, prduced a play called: “ lanchavatara”, where his satrie on Congress government attracted thousands of fans. In this play, he spoke about the power of: Kaavi, Khadi and Khaki, driven by frafu and corruption. The Kaavi, meaning the Saffron-clad religious leaders who gained power thanks to Congreess governments which was full of Khadi-clad corrupt politicians who exrcsied their power through the Khaki brigade, the police.
These days, the BJP governments , blike the previous Congress governemnts court the se Saffron clad religious leaders, who have unprecedented access to from the PM, the President , the CMs and powerful industrialists. The distinction between saffron-clad religious leaders and BJP politicians have become blurred, considering thatYogi Adityanath, the Saffron-clad priest in the UP is also the UP CM.
These saffron clad individulas consider thenselves a cut above the ordinary citizens, who they consider as mere sinners, and hence any rule including the social distancing and lockdown restriction on congregation, no matter even if the congregation to a man wear masks.
The bright young men and women who sut for the UAS exams, and pass with credit. And are posted as district administrators, have two imoortnat masters: the politicians in power and the saffron-c;ad religious leaders.Very often like this Seer, the Saffron wields more power , as the politicians court the Saffron-clad leaders’ vote bank of millions of devotees.
That should explain why masks are only for mere mortals!
