Nypunya School of Excellence unleashes unique STEAM Fest

Mysore/Mysuru: Empirical, analytical and objective thinking took centrestage at the Dattagalli campus of the Nypunya School of Excellence, which hosted the aptly-titled ‘Nypunya Thinkfinity’ STEAM exhibition, today.

The event bridged the gap between theory and practice, while laying the grounds for developing scientific temper in the extended community. It also confirmed the undeniable power of science in providing engaging, entertaining and enlightening pathways for students in the pursuit of excellence.

Ably guided by their teachers, students presented an array of static and working models, created from scratch.

Students of grades I and II showcased static models ranging from agriculture, evolution of education, evolution of human beings, safety in everyday life, nutrition and types of fibre.

Budding scientists of grades III-VIII exhibited scientific, mathematical and tech-based models with far-reaching practical applications.

They demonstrated and explained production of electricity, global warming, acid rain, electroplating, windmill, pulse monitor, drip irrigation, water cycle, water management systems and human heart.

The math aficionados interacted with attendees and challenged them with games based on mental math, division, HCF and LCM, probability, congruence, types of angles and the Pythagoras Theorem.

Tech-savvy youngsters showed off their prowess in coding by demonstrating apps encompassing ERP, AI chatbot, noise detection and pronunciation tool.

City’s renowned agri-scientist Dr. Vasanth Kumar Thimakapura, who was the chief guest, paid homage to the founding fathers of the Green Revolution and underscored the need for humane and sustainable agricultural practices, in his address.

Secretary of Nypunya Institutions R. Kautilya, Principal M.N. Mahendra,  Academic Co-ordinator K.S. Shwetha and others were present.
