Mysore/Mysuru: Adding to the list of educational institutions which have resorted to online teaching during the lockdown, Trinity College, Vijayanagar, too has taken up an initiative to conduct online classes for students to help them prepare for Board exams.
Faculty and students connect virtually by using mobile application software. The online classes commenced from the first week of April. The covered portions are assessed by oral tests or quizzes, assignments etc. Every week there are online tests conducted using ‘Mypal.app’ facilitated by ‘Arivu Learning.’
Students are taking active participation in interacting with teachers virtually. The videos, images and derivations can be easily presented using apps. Along with these, college also conducted online contests like ‘Mask Making Competition’, ‘Selfie with Mom’ on account of Mother’s Day and so on. Students are showing good interest in both curriculum and extra-curricular activities even during lockdown period, stated a press release adding that once the college reopens, students are allowed to practice the social hygiene. The campus is equipped with spacious classrooms good enough to maintain 40 students with social distance as per the norms, compulsory face masks and regular hand sanitising, the press release added.
