Mysore/Mysuru: As COVID-19 positive cases continue to rise in the district, the Mysuru District Savita Samaja has appealed salon owners to voluntarily shut shops in infected areas (Containment Zones) for 15 to 30 days.
Samaja District President N.R. Nagesh told Star of Mysore that there are 1,000 salons in city and about 12,000 in the district.
Noting that H.D. Kote handpost, Saragur, Nanjangud, Bannur, Hunsur, Hanagodu in the district and Hootagalli, Hinkal, Koorgalli and KHB Colony in the city have been declared as Containment Zones following the spread of virus, he appealed the salon owners in these areas and other infected areas to voluntarily shut shops considering the health and safety of customers and members of the public.
Pointing out that a prominent community member died of the virus a couple of days ago in Bengaluru and a few others are undergoing treatment for the disease in different districts, Nagesh said that the salon owners in infected areas are being convinced about the necessity to shut shops in the wake of rapid spread of the pandemic.
