Mysuru: Mysore Open Forum has organised the screening of the film ‘Children of War’ at 10.30 am tomorrow (Apr. 27) at Kalpa Kshetra Auditorium, #581/1, Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 1st Phase, Mysuru.
‘Children of War’ is a film based on the true events of December 1971 when West Pakistan unleashed genocide on the Bengali population of East Pakistan. This led to 10 million refugees flocking into West Bengal, Assam and the North Eastern States.
India was forced to intervene when Pakistan Air Force carried out attacks on our western military bases. India’s intervention ended the genocide and Pakistan was forced to surrender within 13 days with over 90,000 Prisoners of War. The film depicts the atrocities committed by Pakistani soldiers on their own countrymen.
It stars Pavan Malhotra, Raima Sen, Tilottama Shome, Farooque Sheikh and Victor Bannerjee. The film won critical acclaim in India and won 31 International awards. It was shown on Bangladesh TV & also in all the towns and villages in the country free of cost.
The director of the film Mrityunjay Devvrat, who is the son-in-law of Ravi Joshi, will be present for an interaction with the audience after the film. The event is open to all. For details contact Mob: 94498-19536.
