Mysuru: Monday was a hectic day for the election authorities as seven candidates, including those from the BJP and Congress filed their nominations papers from Mysuru-Kodagu LS seat at the DC Office here.

While sitting BJP MP Pratap Simha submitted two sets of nomination papers, so did Congress candidate C.H. Vijayashankar and independent candidates K.S. Somasundara and Venkatesh D. Nayaka.

The other candidates who filed their nomination on Monday were G. Lokesh Kumar, M. Khaleel and M. Srinivas, all independents.

With seven candidates filing nomination on a single day on Monday, the number of candidates touched 17.
