Special lecture on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar held: ‘Babasaheb is like a God’

April 17, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is not with us today physically but the ideology propagated by him will remain with us forever,” said Sri Arjun Avadootha Maharaj of Mysuru.

“Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar is like a God.  I grew up listening to his teachings and ideologies. We are fortunate to have a thinker like him and no other country has a leader of his stature. The Constitution given by him is equivalent to Bhagavadgita. All of us should give importance to humanity and everyone should have good education. This was his dream”, said Arjun Guruji.

He was speaking after inaugurating a special lecture programme organised by Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Research Centre at its Cauvery Auditorium on Saturday to mark Dr. Ambedkar’s 131st birth anniversary celebrations.

Delivering the special lecture on the occasion, Vadiraj, writer and social activist, said that India was vibrant when Dr. Ambedkar was alive and is ten times more vibrant now. “Dr. Ambedkar was always frank and forthright in expressing his opinions. The humiliations he suffered during his childhood led to him to search for their solutions as he thought his humiliations are not just his own but of a  larger community of oppressed and exploited people. He gave a great Constitution for modern India and didn’t just give reservations but also wanted their proper and effective implementation. But now we see the misuse of the reservation system using fake certificates,” he rued and concluded by saying that at the end of the day we are all Indians and nothing else.
