Vishwa Ranga Sambhrama-2025 at Rangayana from tomorrow

Mysuru: Vishwa Ranga Sambhrama- 2025, jointly organised by Rangayana Mysuru and Mysuru Jilla Havyasi Rangakarmigala Vedike in association with  Department of Kannada and Culture, Karnataka Nataka Academy and Karnataka Sahitya Academy will be held from Mar. 22 to 27 at Rangayana premises in city.

The six-day theatre festival will be inaugurated by Kannada and Culture Director K.M. Gayathri tomorrow at 6 pm at Bhoomigeetha. MLA K. Harishgowda and Theatre Director K.R. Sumathi will be chief guests. Kannada and Culture Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy will preside. Rangayana Mysuru Director Satish Tiptur, Vedike President Rajesh H. Talkad and Secretary M.P. Haridatta will be present.

As part of the festival, a series of seminars has been organised on Mar. 23 at Karantha Rangachavadi from 10 am. It will be inaugurated by Dr. Dharanidevi Malagathi, IPS. Theatre Director Prof. S.R. Ramesh will preside. Sahitya Academy Chairman L.N. Mukundaraj, Rangayana Mysuru Director Satish Tiptur, Vedike President Rajesh H. Talkad will be present. Senior theatre persons such as former Rangayana Director H. Janardhan, Gundanna Chikkamagalur and Prof. S.R. Ramesh will deliberate on various topics. Later a documentary on C.G. Krishnaswamy (C.G.K) will be screened.

The festival will come to an end with the celebration of World Theatre Day on Mar. 27 in association with Nataka Academy at Bhoomigeetha at 6 pm. Senior Theatre Person and Karnataka Nataka Academy former Chairperson Malathi Sudhir, Nataka Academy Member-Convenor Dr. M.A. Jaheeda and Rangayana Deputy Director Dr. M.D. Sudarshan will be present.

On the occasion, theatre persons who have received Rajyotsava Award, Nataka Academy Award, Kuvempu Bhasha Bharathi Award, Bayalata Academy Award, Suvarna Rajyotsava Award and Hon. Doctorates by Universities will be feted.

Plays will be staged at Bhoomigeetha from Mar. 22 to 25 at daily 6.30 pm. Tickets are priced at Rs. 100 each day and Rs. 300 for season ticket.

Tomorrow’s Play: Gudiya Nodiranna; Team: Aata Maata, Dharwad; Stage Adaptation: Mahadev and Rajkumar Madiwala; Design and Direction: Mahadeva Hadapada.
