Vision Mysuru-2050: Grand Finale at SDM Institute tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: The grand finale of Vision Mysuru-2050, one of the most anticipated student-driven civil-centric initiatives powered by SDM Institute for Management Development (SDM-IMD), Mysuru, will be held at SDM-IMD on Mar. 23 at 4 pm.

The finale will feature Top 5 idea presentations of shortlisted plans and proposals before an esteemed grand jury. The jury members include Dr. Nitesh Patil, Regional Commissioner (Revenue), Mysuru; Vaishali Hanumanth, Managing Partner at DRC Cinemas; Fr. Leslie Moras, former Principal of St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru; Dr. Harish Krishnaswamy, Trustee, SKDRDP and Ravishankar, CEO of Aim High Consulting.

Vision Mysuru-2050 initiative received an over-whelming response of 317 submissions aimed at the holistic development of Mysuru. Following a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process, the jury has shortlisted the top 5 proposals. These submissions span a wide range of themes critical to the city’s future, including Urban Infrastructure and Mobility, Environmental Sustainability, Economic Development, Digital Governance and Smart Cities, Education and Healthcare, Heritage Conservation, Social Equity and Inclusion, Disaster Resilience, and Tourism and Culture.

The initial evaluation process has been conducted by a distinguished panel of domain experts and seasoned professionals from Mysuru. Representing diverse fields such as defence, heritage, culture, history, management, technology, academia, and the corporate sector, the panel ensured that each proposal is assessed not only for originality and feasibility but also for its alignment with Mysuru’s unique character and long-term vision.

At the grand finale, the shortlisted teams will present their proposals before district authorities and experts, who will identify the top three winning ideas.

The winning teams will be given the opportunity to present their proposals to senior government officials, industry leaders and academic heads.

Earlier, the Vision Mysuru-2050 team presented the top 10 shortlisted proposals before the Regional Commissioner, who is also the Administrator at Mysuru City Corporation.

Vision Mysuru-2050 is the strategic brainchild of Dr. (Lt. Col.) S.N. Prasad, Director of SDM-IMD. The initiative is supported by its Brand Ambassador Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala and Chairman of the SDM Educational Trust.

The event is being conducted in collaboration with Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mysuru, The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Mysuru, CII Young India Chapter, many educational institutions and organisations.

A key outcome will be the publication of a comprehensive “White Paper,” which will be formally submitted to the District Administration to support implementation and guide future urban policy.
