Wadiyars gave guarantees that generations won’t forget: Raghu

April 19, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that while it is the erstwhile Mysore rulers (Wadiyars) who gave guarantees through their invaluable contributions that generations to come won’t forget, State BJP OBC Morcha President Raghu Kautilya said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come up with works  that remain etched in the minds of people  for generations.

He was speaking after inaugurating the poll campaign in favour of Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha Constituency BJP candidate Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, organised under the aegis of Mysore Beauticians Welfare Association here  on Tuesday.

Noting that beauty products manufacturing units too were a part of the industries set up by the erstwhile Mysore Maharajas, Raghu said the rulers, apart from striving for making Mysuru the Cultural Capital, had made a significant contribution to make Mysuru a Swadeshi products hub. Pointing out that the erstwhile Mysore rulers should get the credit for making women’s education compulsory, giving voting rights and job opportunities for women and many other such benefits, Raghu said that PM Modi too has introduced many schemes for empowerment of women.

Former MLA S.A. Ramdas explained about Modi’s promotion of women entrepreneurship and read out the salient features of the plans and schemes announced in BJP’s poll manifesto.

Yaduveer’s wife Trishikha Kumari Wadiyar held a video interaction with the participants and sought support for her husband.

She said that she would take part in the Association’s programme at another point of time.

City BJP President and former MLA L. Nagendra, senior party leader M.V. Ravishankar, City BJP Women’s Wing President Renuka Raj, office-bearers Mamatha Shetty, and Chandrakala, Mysore Beauticians Welfare Association office-bearers Veda Rai, Uma Jadhav, former Corporator Pramila Bharath and others were present.
