Mysore/Mysuru: A 24-year-old youth was killed on the spot when a Tempo Traveller vehicle reportedly ran over him on Jodi Tenginamara Road in Bannimantap here on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Varadaraj, a resident of Aleemnagar, who was a painter by profession.

On Tuesday evening, Varadaraj who was proceeding on Jodi Tenginamara Road from Highway Circle towards Srinivasa Talkies on his Bajaj Pulsar bike, tried to overtake the Tempo Traveller during which he lost control of the bike and fell down. The Tempo Traveller reportedly ran over him killing him on the spot, according to eye witnesses.

N.R. Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members.
