Activists stage hunger strike against Citizenship Laws

March 12, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing the Union Government of introducing CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act), NRC (National Register of Citizens) and NPR (National Population Register) against the wishes of the people, over 70 activists under the banner of ‘Save Constitution Committee’, staged a day-long hunger strike, today at Gandhi Square in city.

Alleging that the NDA Government at the Centre, headed by Prime Minister Modi, was working overtime to make the country a  ‘Hindu Nation’, the protestors urged the Government to scrap the newly-introduced Citizenship Laws in the larger interests of the people.

Writer Devanaur Mahadev, Prof. Shabbir Mustafa, KRRS leader Hoskote Basavaraj, DSS leader Choranahalli Shivanna and others took part in the protest.
