Lauding the civic workers for diligently working to ensure Mysuru City getting the ‘Cleanest City’ tag twice, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah assured that his Government would invest more for the comprehensive development of the city.
Siddharamaiah was addressing the gathering at a programme organised to launch various development works and distribution of Government benefits to the people of Krishnaraja Assembly constituency at Buthale Grounds in Vidyaranayapuram here on Sunday.
Pointing out that the State Government has spent Rs. 950 crore on Mysuru city, the CM said that the work on the extended portion of Maharani College is near complete and the Government will announce budgetary allocation for reconstruction of Devaraja Market and Lansdowne building.
Assuring that all the 65 MCC Wards in the city will get drinking water supply everyday by next year, the CM said that a super speciality hospital would be built at a cost of Rs. 700 crore in the city.
Asserting that the Congress Government has already fulfilled 125 out of the 165 promises mentioned in the poll manifesto in 2013, he said that the remaining promises will be fulfilled in the next 15 months.
Expressing confidence that the Congress will retain power in the 2018 Assembly Polls, Siddharamaiah asked the BJP leaders to provide details of the amount spent for the city during BJP’s tenure.
The Chief Minister further said that the works on the Rs. 136 crore Jayadeva Hospital building in the city will be completed by the end of the year.
He reiterated that Mysuru should be a model city in the country and added that the Government would announce funds in the budget.
Announcing that the State Budget will be presented in the second week of March, Siddharamaiah said the Government was mulling on distribution of more quantity of rice under the Anna Bhagya scheme.
The CM directed DC D. Randeep to issue land documents to the residents of Yele Thota coming under K.R. Constituency. Siddharamaiah also launched the works on four-laning of the stretch (1.15km) of NH 212 from Gun House to Nanjangud Road junction (Race Course Road junction) which has been taken up at a cost of Rs. 1,720 lakh. The works are slated to be completed by November end this year.
Siddharamaiah distributed benefits to beneficiaries of various schemes on the occasion.
Even as Chief Minister Siddharamaiah was seated on the dais, an unidentified man from the crowd, rising slogans hailing the Chief Minister, entered the dais, breaching the security cordon and fell at his feet. Stunned by the incident the security personnel frisked the man out of the dais and dragged him out of the venue, it is learnt.
Deputy Mayor Rathna Lakshman, Hunsur MLA H.P. Manjunath, Corporator Shaukat Pasha and Sunil Kumar, KEA Chairman Siddaraju and others were present.
