CAR bags Overall Championship in Police Annual Sports Meet

City Armed Reserve (CAR) wing bagged Overall Championship in the Mysuru City Police Annual Sports Meet which concluded at the Police Parade Grounds here on Sunday.

While CAR Constable Mylari won the Overall Champion title in the men’s category, Hebbal Police Station Constable K.P. Usha bagged the title in the women’s category.

Winners in the individual events are as followers:

100m Run: 1. Mylari (CAR), 2. Amarnath (Special Wing), 3. Ashok (CAR).

200m Run: 1. Mylari (CAR), 2. Kumar (CAR), 3. Ashok (CAR).

400m Run: 1. Mylari (CAR), 2. C. Hariprasad (Devaraja), 3. C. Mahesh (Special).

800m Run: 1. M.G. Nagaraj (CAR), 2. B. Mahesh (Devaraja), 3. Ravi Kumar (CAR).

1500m Run: 1. Ravi Kumar (CAR), 2. M.G. Nagaraj (CAR), 3. Loyappa Kattimani (Devaraja).

5000m Run: 1. Loyappa Kattimani (Devaraja), 2. Sunil Kumar (NR), 3. Pavankumar (CAR).

100×4 and 400×4 Relay: 1. CAR, 2. Special Wing.

Long-Jump: 1. Mylari (CAR), 2. Siddaruda Madhar (Traffic), 3. Amarnath (Special).

High-Jump: 1. Ashok (CAR), 2. Mylari (CAR), 3. Anand Hosamani (Traffic).

In the Slow Cycle Race for Sub-Inspectors and above officers, Madan Kumar stood first followed by Anand and Ramu.

Tug-of-War was won by CAR.

Speaking after presenting prizes to the winners, Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Mysuru Circle, T. Heeralal opined that sports is good to relieve stress and added that participation is important and not winning or losing.

City Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna, DCP (Law and Order) M. Mutturaj, DCP (Crime & Traffic) B.T. Kavitha, Mounted wing SP Nagaraj, CAR DCP Chennaiah and others were present.

The Sports Meet was inaugurated by retired Police Officer B.N.S. Reddy on Friday when the CAR Police along with Traffic, Women, KSRP and Mounted Police personnel took out an attractive march-past.
