Mandya: Four medical college students including two women were killed on the spot when a speeding truck hit their car on the Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway this morning. All the students hailed from Rajarajeshwari Medical College, Ramanagaram and were returning to their college after a brief holiday in Mysuru.
The accident occurred on B.M. Road near Sangabasavanadoddi village at Ramanagaram when the speeding truck collided against a road divider and then hit the car. The impact of the accident was such that the truck jumped over the road divider and landed on the front portion of the car.
The victims are said to be from Kerala and have been identified as Joyed Jacob, Jeena, Divya and Nikhith. According to the Police, the group came to Mysuru two days back and were in the city for two days.
Yesterday was a holiday for their college on account of Valmiki Jayanthi.
Bidadi Police visited the spot and are investigating.
