Sir,
I fully endorse the suggestion by Vasanth (SOM dated July 26) on introducing circular bus routes without touching CBS. As of now, it appears that the concerned are just following the traditional method of increasing frequency of buses depending on the commuters without exploring other options. Unless they travel regularly to different parts of this growing city, it is difficult to understand the gravity of this vital suggestion.
One simple example is between Kuvempunagar and Jayalaksmipuram which hardly takes 20-25 minutes for commuting but one has to invariably travel via CBS to change the bus and waste another 25 minutes and also by paying extra money.
Mysuru is a fast growing city and hence, one has to seriously review the systems for the benefit of general public. These type of constructive suggestions must be considered seriously by the concerned to ensure that the Department works effectively and efficiently.
An attempt can be made by introducing few buses on an experimental basis in some selected areas and see the result.
